What does bison taste like? Not like chicken :) It taste very similar to beef. It is sweeter, lighter and not gamely. It is good.I was thrilled to find ground bison at Costco! So I made up some burgers:
Seasoning:
1 lb ground bison
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp onion powder
.5 tsp black pepper
.5 tsp garlic powder
Preparation:
Mix ingredients together in bowl and form patties.
Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes per side
For something a little extra I made a caramelized topping by sauteing shallots with honey and a dash of cayenne pepper. Give the cows a break and try some bison. Yum!
